Last Night Andrej Sekera took on Vladimir Sobotka in a fight that started with a crease scrum.  Let it be duly noted the nationalities of the two combatants.  Sekera is from Slovakia, while Sobotka hails from The Czech Republic.  As one announcer stated during the Olympic match between these nations, "These Countries just plain, Do Not Like eachother."

Craig Rivet also knocked down Andrew Ferrence who had politely declined the invitation to dance with the Sabres captain.  The scrum came shortly after the Bruns had taken the lead, with 7 minutes remaining in the 3rd.  Mike Grier was also active in the scrum.

Sabres Update:

The Sabres have recalled 6'3" tough man, Cody McCormick from Portland of the AHL.  The move is presumably to replace Matt Ellis in the lineup.  McCormick had 166 PIM's in Portland this year along with 29 points.  McCormick has fought 13 times so far this year (1 NHL, 11 AHL, 1 AHL playoff) Check the URL below for McCormick's work down in Portland

Thomas Vanek is questionable to be in the lineup for Buffalo tomorrow night.  He was seen at the Bruins training facility with a walking boot.  He said there have been improvements, but he did not skate today.  Vanek said there is a chance that he'll play and that he is 'hopeful'.  I think we're all hopeful, Thomas.

Game Time: Wednesday 7pm ET, 4pm PT, (9am Thurs S. Korea)
